Self-defense workshops local courses calendar

In addition to their work with a wide variety of companies, businesses and community groups,
Mary Brandl and Anita Bendickson teach open-to-the-public courses and workshops in personal safety and self-defense on a regular basis at a variety of locations in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) area.

Instruction may also be arranged in a format and schedule to suit the convenience of private groups. Call 612-729-4621 if you have questions about anything on this page. Local open-to-the-public instruction presently scheduled to start in the next few months.

--Burnsville/Eagan/Savage Community Education -
Mothers/daughters & others self-defense workshops,
Two separate workshops: Friday , April 3 and repeated on Tuesday, July 21, 6:30-9:45 PM.

--Washburn Community Education -
One night self defense workshop on Monday, April 20, 7:00-9:00 PM.
Workshop is FREE but you MUST register to attend, call 612-668-3450 for location and registration

--Edina Community Education -
Mothers/daughters & others self-defense workshop,
Friday, April 17, 6:30 - 9:45 PM.

--Bloomington Richfield Community Education -
Self defense workshop on Thursday, March 12, 6:30 - 9:45 PM,

--St. Louis Park Community Education -
One night, March 18, 6 - 9:15 PM,

--Community Crime Prevention/SAFE -
Short workshops, FREE & open to the public,
one presently scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

--Intensive course at the University of MN-
May 26 - June 12, everyday from 10-11:40am on the Minneapolis campus. Course is listed as PE 1044, Self Defense. The course is open to anyone who is willing to register for UMN coursework.

Self defense workshops can be scheduled for private groups on most Saturday afternoons.

--Macalester College - Next course scheduled for September, 2009 .

--Carleton College - Spring Quarter course starts March. 2009, & Fall Quarter starts Sept, 2009, both on Tuesdays, 7:45-9:30 P.M.

--University of MN, Course # P.E. 1044 - Fall semester starts , September 2009 four sections offered. Two sections offered MW, 8:00-8:50 A.M. & 9:05-9:55 A.M. Same times for two sections offered TTh. All sections on the Minneapolis campus.

--University of MN Extension course - Fall semester starts September, 2009. Wednesdays, 7:00-9:00 P.M., St Paul campus.

--North Hennepin Community College - Fall semester starts September, 2009.

--University of Wisconsin at River Falls - Fall semester starts September 2009.
